Magic the Gathering - Battle Setup

Welcome to my first Magic the Gathering post. I'll be posting a lot of posts and videos of meaningless battles between top tier decks and also casual decks. I'll be using the program called Forge for this purpose. It's not as perfect as MTGO but the AI is quite impressive. The AI won't be able to simulate a player's logic and play completely but it is good enough to pilot powerful no-brainer decks like Domain Zoo, Jund Aggro and Naya Aggro

To demonstrate the program here, I'll create a video of a mock battle between the Naya Aggro versus the casual Tribal Bear deck I found online. The battle will be based on best of 5 games with no sideboards. (Sorry, the AI is not perfect enough to sideboard)

Below are the decklists.

Naya Aggro (2009 Nationals)

3 Ajani Vengeant|ALA
4 Arid Mesa|ZEN
4 Baneslayer Angel|M10
4 Bloodbraid Elf|ARB
4 Forest|LEA|1
4 Lightning Bolt|LEA
3 Mountain|LEA|1
4 Noble Hierarch|CFX
1 Oran-Rief, the Vastwood|ZEN
4 Path to Exile|CFX
4 Plains|LEA|1
4 Ranger of Eos|ALA
4 Rootbound Crag|M10
1 Scute Mob|ZEN
4 Sunpetal Grove|M10
4 Wild Nacatl|ALA
4 Woolly Thoctar|ALA

[Sideboard]
1 Ajani Vengeant|ALA
2 Burst Lightning|ZEN
4 Celestial Purge|CFX
4 Goblin Ruinblaster|ZEN
4 Great Sable Stag|M10

Tribal Bear (Casual)

[Main]
4 Adaptive Automaton|M12
4 Balduvian Bears|ICE
4 Bear Cub|PO2
4 Bear Umbra|ROE
4 Coat of Arms|EXO
22 Forest|LEA|1
4 Forest Bear|PTK
4 Golden Bear|PO2
4 Grizzly Bears|LEA
4 Muraganda Petroglyphs|FUT
4 Runeclaw Bear|M10

[Sideboard]
None

Let the battle begin! Watch the video below. (Sorry for the crappy effects)

Wow, intense match with the Tribal Bear winning the game 3-2 by sheer dumb luck. I top decked the Coat of Arms twice in the final games for the win.  The common problems with tribal decks are some of the cards that they used actually help opponents to win i.e. Coat of Arms and Muraganda Petroglyphs. For my case, Coat of Arms was buffing my opponent's Human; Ranger of Eos and Noble Hierarch. The Noble Hierarch added Exalted ability and Ranger of Eos comes-into-play ability to search for more Nobles makes the opponent's creatures much more painful. Oh, since Woolly Thoctar is a vanilla creature, Muraganda Petroglyphs actaully makes them...scarier. Take note that the tribal bear deck does not have removals.

Let's try another casual deck for my next MTG battle post.

Hope you guys/girls enjoyed my posts.

Monkeys Can Game Logo - First Draft

Yay, first draft for the blog logo complete! Yeah yeah, the tail looks very unnatural and the feet looks strange. But hey! I'm no art student but I'm very satisfied with the overall design.

Achievement Unlocked! Diablo 3 - Paragon Level 1000!

First of all, I would like to congratulate myself for hitting another useless milestone in my life. Somehow I managed to achieve Paragon Level 1000 on Diablo 3. I know, I know, there are lotsa gamers out there with higher Paragon levels but this is more like a personal achievement for me. Apart from Diablo 3, Final Fantasy series and Ragnarok Online, I don't think I spent too much time on games. So, I have reached Paragon Level 1000. What now? Quit and uninstall the game? No way! There are a few more personal achievements which I have not unlocked. One, I would like to complete the Kanai cube. If you don't know what is Kanai cube, read about it HERE. Two, fully gearing all my character classes. FYI, I am very close to achieving that. Just need a few "better" roll gears. (Damn joo RNG God!) Three, to breeze through Greater Rift 60-70. I am currently stuck at GR 57-ish but I am doing good. No worries there. Like I mentioned above, "better" rolling gears. *prays to Kadala*

Anyways, I created this fun gaming blog not just for Diablo 3 BUT also for my passion for other games i.e. vintage and other modern games, and heck, I will have video battles for Magic the Gathering too! So, wait for my next post!

P/S : I'm currently designing a logo for my blog. Probably something easy to design for a non-artistic person like me. Mmmm, a monkey holding a joypad...sounds good. *starts sketching*
